Roy Lichtenstein paintings remind me of an old friend who had moved from Rhodesia with his family to a new house a couple of doors down from us in Hampton, just outside London, UK. Which in turn gives me flashbacks to the Aberfan disaster, so it must have been in 1966 when I would have been 6 (yes you can teach an old dog new tricks!).
We ended up being best friends and he had an elder brother and sister.
What has this to do with Roy Lichtenstein paintings I hear you ask?
Well, his sister ended up going to art school and one of her best works was a version of Whaam! Shame I don’t have a photo of this as it was very good.
Back in the ’60s and ’70s, there were plenty of art schools around. Although we were in Hampton, Twickenham Art College was just around the corner. Sadly, it’s now a housing estate.
From recollection, although I didn’t know it at the time, this was probably my introduction to Pop Art.
This is just a simple story that we’ll improve on in time.
The main reason for this story is to show you how easy it is to make your gallery stand out online.
We’re art gallery marketing specialists and help to get galleries like yours noticed.
See how we’ve helped the UK’s fastest-growing online fine art gallery increase their exposure and sales:
As you’re probably aware, today marketing is all about content and if you’re a gallery owner you have some of the best content available. We’ll be able to get your content – artists and artworks – into all the right places – Google Knowledge Graphs, Image Galleries, Carousels and more.
The move online will be far easier for early adopters – the longer you leave it the more difficult and expensive it’s going to become.
